Situated about as far south as you can go in Australia, SYRUP NIGHTCLUB is the last hotspot before you reach Antarctica. And until they open a club down there on that frozen slab, SYRUP is 'The Nightclub at the end of the World'. Located above a certain famous corner pub, and spread over two floors of convict hewn sandstone and timber, this former Hotel/Brothel turned Pub turned Club has been a favourite place for locals and travellers since the 1800s.

Although having gone through some major internal refits over the past 100 years or so, the exterior looks much the same as it did when the Rev. Knopwood was slaking his thirst downstairs in the pub that now bears his name. The latest refit is a stunner and I'm sure The Reverend would agree.

The first floor, where you find "Tackyland" every Friday and Saturday night, has a bigger bar, more dance floor, newer lights and sound, and flash decor.

Tackyland DJs Rolly, Nick C, Naughts, Billybob and Stirlo are firing 70s, 80s, 90s and onwards at a mixed crowd that know every word to every song, and the atmosphere is second-to-none!! Its like a party at your mates house every weekend!! And you dont have to hang around and help them tidy up!!

Second floor, "Round Midnight" takes a more electronic music stance. Its the place for Hobarts best DJs to spin practically anything... from bangin Techno to blistering Breaks. Smooth, deep, bass-heavy House to Twisted-to-fuck Tech and Electro!! Round Midnight is a favourite with many of the worlds BEST and BRIGHTEST DJ stars, including Tim Healy, Concord Dawn, Tom Novy, Moguai, Green Velvet, John 00 Fleming, BeXta, Nik Fish, James Curd, Infected Mushroom, Chris Fraser, Axwell, Bang Gang, Funk D'Void, DJ Yoda, Tommie Sunshine, Lisa Loud, Mark Dynamix, Phil K, Hoxton Whores, Adam Freeland... The list goes on and on and on... Literally!!

Representing Hobart are residents Adam Turner, Gillie, Timo, Discotouch, Matt B, Modal, St.Nick, Corney (the Boss Man) and Kir.

The week at Syrup starts on a Wednesday and ends sometime in the wee hours of a Sunday morning. WWW.SYRUPCLUB.COM is the place to find out when, who and what time!! Check it out!! Lots of photos here too, as well as exclusive DJ mixes and hot links to all kinds of music... Coz thats what we are all about at Syrup... The MUSIC!! :D

Send any questions to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it , but I can answer a few right now:

Yes, you will be allowed to wear tshirts, jeans, sneakers... providing they are CLEAN and not RIPPED or WORN OUT! Going out clubbing should be a reason to 'spruce up' and wear your clean jeans and sneakers!!

Yes, you will be refused entry if you are in a hoodie, even if you intend to cloak it. There are plenty of warm, comfy, good-looking jumpers and jackets available without hoods...

No caps... regardless of brand, condition, or fashion status.

We hope you all understand why we are enforcing these rules, and will support us as we strive to make Syrup a friendlier, nicer, more enjoyable place!!
